Antagonist, an artist from Manchester, creates music comprised of the
distinctive brilliance we’ve come to associate with the cities drum and bass
circuit.
Frequently playing nights across the country, alongside some of the scenes
finest, it’s evident he does damage on the decks! We’ve had a few tasters of
what Antagonist is capable of in the studio, his weighty presence on the
recent Gravis EP generating an abundance of hype, and this time we’re
treated to a full 4 track EP.
Opener Vortex sets the precedent, delving into dark territory there’s an
undercurrent of Blue Note 90’s influence channelled throughout the EP.
Sideways is a tune of eerie, industrial vibes; and whilst System Failure
continues this, abrasive synths pry in and out of the tune, contorting the body
and mind. Next up Gutter, the dark and militant nature of this tune
contributing to an EP that whether listened to at home or in the dance will take
